Hi, this is Izack Wicks. A techie, a part-time writer, and a bachelor, who finds solace in cooking. I didn’t plan on becoming “the tech guy.” I’m the person who ends up fixing things because I don’t like leaving them broken.

A few years ago, I was sitting at a cluttered desk in my apartment in Austin, trying to get an old laptop to cooperate before a deadline. It froze every five minutes. Updates failed for no reason. Forums contradicted each other. At some point, I remember just staring at the screen, thinking, why is this so unnecessarily hard?

There wasn’t a magical fix… just patience, wrong turns, retrying things that almost worked, and eventually getting somewhere. 

That’s usually how it goes.

Around that time, I got into the habit of trying out apps… not because I needed to, but because I was curious. Some were pointless. Some were overhyped. But once in a while, I’d find something that actually made life easier. A cleaner way to track spending. A tool that didn’t overcomplicate things. Something that quietly did its job well. Those were the ones worth remembering.

Outside of all this, my life isn’t particularly “techy.” I like slow mornings, strong coffee, and playlists that somehow always drift into the same few artists. I’ll spend way too long tweaking something small, like reorganizing files or testing a new setup, just because I want it to feel right. Not perfect. Just… right.

TechnoGeez grew out of all of that.

It’s not about chasing trends or throwing big words around. It’s about the small wins, fixing something that’s been bothering you, finding a tool that actually sticks, or finally understanding something that used to feel confusing.
